Miracles.... Without God There Is No Premise For Dialogue

Proof seems to be the basis of all belief in the non-thiest realm. A good rule for some folks. Personally, I can't claim to understand everything ever shown to me or that I experienced. Just not that cerebral. It use to be, what I didn't find 'proof' about, I gave no credibility to. I was subjectively judgmental, based on my universe experience, short as it has been.

Today, I can say 'maybe'. 'Could be'. 'Thats curious and interesting'. Today, I can accept that almost anything is possible. Objectivity evolves with age. So do I believe that miracles and magic have happened in the past? Could be. Then why the hell am I the Skeptical Zealot? Because the skeptic is still inside me, I just feed her less... but she is there, with her opinions. Define miracle...

an event in the external world brought about by the immediate agency or the simple volition of God, operating without the use of means capable of being discerned by the senses, and designed to authenticate the divine commission of a religious teacher and the truth of his message (John 2:18; Matt. 12:38)

OR

an event that cannot be explained by the known laws of nature and is therefore attributed to a supernatural or divine power

Can't really debate or dialogue about miracles with people that do not believe in the God that supposedly brings them about. Can you? No premise exists.

The Urantia Book is pretty clear about miracles:

".....But religion is never enhanced by an appeal to the so-called miraculous. The quest for miracles is a harking back to the primitive religions of magic. True religion has nothing to do with alleged miracles, and never does revealed religion point to miracles as proof of authority. Religion is ever and always rooted and grounded in personal experience. And your highest religion, the life of Jesus, was just such a personal experience: man, mortal man, seeking God and finding him to the fullness during one short life in the flesh, while in the same human experience there appeared God seeking man and finding him to the full satisfaction of the perfect soul of infinite supremacy. And that is religion, even the highest yet revealed in the universe ...--the earth life of Jesus of Nazareth."

Ya see.... can't really dialogue, because there is no proof to satisfy the non thiest. The proof lies within the experience of the evolved mortal being.

Actually, the truest Miracle of all, was Jesus becoming man. This guy was a walking miracle, in so many ways. He didn't have to raise Lazarus to convince anybody who loved him, of anything. They already loved him. That experience alone was enough proof for them. His many appearances after his resurrection was hard to believe... until the unbelieving individual SAW him for themselves. I'm thinking thats what our non-theists need. A chat with God. And, I feel sure, that opportunity will happen soon enough. Maybe then, they will become "maybe" people.
